Emerging Leaders

This is a 18-month program designed for early-to-mid career men growing in their leadership and influence who are seeking greater faith-life integration, career and leadership excellence, and a pathway to biblical manhood.

THE WAY APPROACH

The methodology used is based on Jeff’s 20 years as a leadership coach and subsequent 20 years as a spiritual director and life coach. The core models, principles, and tools from Jeff’s book, The Joy Model are the foundations of the experience.

As of 2024, there are ~115 men who are actively a part of The Way community on the front range of Colorado.

Each man is part of a smaller cohort of 8-12 men to foster community & accountability. 

We use a creative combination of:

  • teaching

  • curated reading and videos

  • cognitive and experiential exercises

  • 1:1 and group coaching

  • spiritual direction

  • outdoor adventure, and

  • tried-and-true life purpose tools/strategies

to help you move from "smoldering discontent" to courage and clarity about every dimension  of your life

What’s Included

MONTHLY MEETINGS:

  • Each cohort meets as a group once a month.

  • Their initial gathering is held at Jeff’s property in Evergreen CO and is a one-day immersive kick-off workshop

  • One of the monthly gatherings is a 2.5 day outdoor adventure designed for fellowship and growth

  • The other 10 monthly gatherings are half days of teaching, individual strategic planning, brainstorming, feedback, and a hearty meal. 

  • Wives are invited to one of the meals early in the year to get acquainted with the community. Later in the year, we do a couples workshop during one of the half day gatherings followed by a meal.

  • Each cohort uses a dynamic scheduling method for calendaring the year to ensure all members can attend all gatherings.

TEACHING & COACHING:

  • The men are guided through a curated syllabus of bible reading, select chapters from the classics of our Christian faith, and other resources that explore the overlap between psychology, spirituality, and practicality.

  • Each man also gets a 1:1 coaching session with Jeff, Jon Sborov, or one of our other member-coaches who bring unique subject matter expertise that would be valuable to them.

  • Each cohort uses a dynamic scheduling method for calendaring the year to ensure all members can attend all gatherings.

 

ALL MEMBER EVENTS:

Each man also has the option to engage in a variety of all-member events:

  • Silent retreats (available quarterly)

  • All-Member Dinners with a guest speaker (available quarterly)

  • Service days, mission trips, and pilgrimages

  • Business-and-faith events and conferences

  • Annual fly-fishing trip to Wyoming

  • Annual mountain bike trip to the western slope

 

Members commit and re-commit to the community on a yearly basis for as long as they feel the coaching, comradery, connections, and personal growth are helping them live with greater freedom, focus, and effectiveness in all dimensions of their life. In the last 6 years, we have had 97% retention rate (excluding members who have moved out of state.)
